REIMBURSED OPPORTUNITIES
Are you a patient or carer of someone with hypertension? Would you like to help shape the future of clinical trials and treatments?
To make clinical trials more relevant, understandable, and patient-centred, we are forming a Hypertension Patient Council in collaboration with MediPaCe.
What is the Hypertension Patient Council?
As a council member, you will:
- Share your experience as a patient or carer of someone with hypertension.
- Provide feedback on the design of clinical trials and how patient information can be improved.
- Help assess whether the questions and processes used in research are reasonable, relevant, and useful to patients.
How will it work?
You will receive a formal invitation and contract outlining your role and engagement.
The first meeting is a 3-hour virtual session (with a break) in mid-March 2025.
Before the meeting, you’ll receive preparation materials and have the opportunity to contribute to the agenda.
After the session, you will receive a meeting summary to ensure your input is reflected accurately.
The council will meet approximately every 6 months for the next two years.
There may be further opportunities to participate in events and share your lived experience.
Compensation
You will be compensated for 5 hours per meeting, covering preparation, attendance, and review of the meeting report. Exact payment rates are currently being finalised. Additional activities will be compensated separately and agreed upon in advance.
Who is behind this?
This initiative is a collaboration with MediPaCe, experts in meaningful patient engagement and research.
PiCC United, a patient-led organisation, supports continuity, access to engagement resources, and a safe space for council members. PiCC United also serves as the contract holder, so you only need to sign one agreement, regardless of the projects you join.

Simplifying Your Payment Process with PiCC United
Want to know more about honoraria and payments as a participant with PiCC United? You can find all the information you need in our Patient Contract Details, where we also provide a simple one-step contract to make the process easier for you.
Rather than managing separate contracts from pharmaceutical companies, CROs, or healthcare partners, you only need to sign one agreement with PiCC United. This means you can focus on what truly matters, showing up, sharing your perspective, and making an impact.
Patient Involvement Contract
At PiCC United, we believe that patient participation should be built on clear expectations, transparency and mutual respect. To support this, we’ve developed a checklist of key elements your patient involvement contract should include. This helps to ensure that both patients and the organisations they collaborate with, whether hospitals, research institutions, or pharmaceutical companies, understand their roles, responsibilities, and rights.
