PiCC United – Community Guidelines
For everyone who wants to share knowledge, experiences and voices in the community
We believe that real change starts with people – not systems. Our community is open to patients, relatives, healthcare professionals and anyone else who wants to make healthcare more human and meaningful.
When you contribute a blog, article or comment, you help us make patient involvement more accessible, honest – and different. To take care of our community and each other, we have some simple guidelines.
If you want to write a blog or article
We love content that:
- Focuses on important topics in patient and citizen involvement
- Shares personal experiences or real-life cases
- Makes difficult topics easier to understand
- Starts important conversations
- Gives voice to new perspectives
But… to ensure that everyone feels comfortable, we ask that you:
- Write original content (you are welcome to draw on something you have written previously, but please adapt it to the PiCC United community)
- Write respectfully and openly – we do not want hurtful, derogatory, threatening or discriminatory content
- Avoid coarse, hateful or offensive language – even when frustrated
- Avoid mentioning other people in a way that could be offensive or harmful
- Do not give medical advice
- Do not promote products, services or companies
- Obtain approval from the responsible researcher/project manager if you are writing about a research project you are part of (we can help clarify this)
If you want to comment on a post
We encourage dialogue, questions and knowledge sharing – but always with an open and curious mind.
We ask you to:
- Stick to the topic of the post
- Show respect – both to the author and to others who comment
- Refrain from giving or seeking medical advice
- Refrain from advertising products, services or private offers
- Do not share sensitive personal information – this applies to both your own and others’
- Refrain from language and content that may be discriminatory, derogatory or threatening
- Do not impersonate someone else
- Keep the tone friendly – disagreement is welcome as long as it is factual and respectful
- Do not post technically harmful content (viruses, scripts, etc.)
A community with room for diversity
At PiCC United, there is room for both vulnerability and strength. We embrace differences and actively work to ensure diversity in voices and experiences.
This means that we will sometimes support bloggers and commentators in finding the balance between being honest and being constructive. If a post or comment does not comply with the guidelines, we reserve the right to edit, move or remove it. But the most important thing is:
We are here to listen, learn and lift each other up.
If you have any questions, are unsure about something or need some feedback before you write, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We are here to help.
